  Facial bone reshaping

Asian faces tend to be relatively large, wide and flat. Cheek bones may be prominent with a weak jaw bone and flat or retruded chin. Some of these features may make some women look more masculine.

  Let us help.

Facial bone reshaping, or re-contouring, allows for refinement of the balance between the structures on the face. Some areas may be augmented while others may be reduced in prominence. For Asian faces, we undergo facial bone reshaping for the cheek, chin and/or lower jaw to make the face appear smaller and more delicate, both from the side and front profile.

What does facial bone reshaping for the cheek bone entail?

The cheek bones are key to making a face more sculpted and refined. Small cheek bones or full chubby cheeks may be rectified by our doctors. To build up desired areas, implants can be used next to the bone structure of the face.

How is facial bone reshaping for the chin performed?

The profile of your face can be significantly altered with either a chin augmentation or reduction. Augmentation involves inserting an implant, while reduction of a protruded or long chin involves removing some of the chin bone.

What is facial bone reshaping for the lower jaw?

The shape of the jaw is significant in determining how feminine the shape of a face is. Female jawlines tend to have a smoother cure from the earlobe to the chin. To reduce the size of a prominent jaw, an incision is first made inside the mouth, leaving no visible scar outside. Enlarged outer portions of the jaw is cut down or filed down using a rotating metal burr.

What happens post-surgery?

In any of the procedures, it is normal to experience swelling and bruising which should diminish within a few weeks. Strenuous activities or any situation which involves facial contact should be avoided during the recovery period. If you feel any severe pain or other abnormal symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
