What are the signs of gynaecomastia?
The signs vary from a small amount of extra tissue around the nipples to more prominent breasts. It may affect one or both breasts. Sometimes, the breast tissue may feel tender or painful.
How is male breast reduction surgery performed?
Liposuction is used to remove the fatty tissue via small incisions made around the nipple and other sites on the chest. A small metal tube is used to suck out the fatty tissue. If required, glandular tissue is also removed at the border of the nipple via incisions.
What happens post-surgery?
Swelling and bruising of the area will occur, and subside in the first few weeks. During this period, you may be required to wear a firm garment over your chest to aid in recovery. It may be a few months before you see the full results of the procedure.
