Inlays & onlays Tooth decay occurs when bacteria in the mouth produce acids that eat away at the tooth. This may cause an unsightly smile, or pain, infection and even tooth loss.
Let us help. Inlays and onlays can restore teeth that have been damaged by decay, by fitting a solid substance into a tooth cavity. Unlike standard fillings, inlays and onlays strengthen the tooth structure, last longer and allow you to bear more chewing force.

What is the difference between inlays or onlays?
Inlays are done when the restoration required is within the contours of your tooth. An onlay covers more of the tooth’s surface. Your dentist will determine which is more appropriate for you based on the amount of tooth structure lost.
Will it be painful?
Local anaesthesia will be administered to numb the pain that will occur with the preparation of the tooth.
What can I expect post-procedure?
There may be slightly discomfort or soreness, and sensitivity to hot and cold food for one or two days.
