Pores

For every hair on your body, there is a pore from which it appears. These pores also allow oils to come to the surface of the skin to protect it from environmental dryness. People with oilier, thicker skin tend to have larger pores than those with dry skin.

Sun damage and aging are another cause of large pores, as they result in a thickening of the skin around individual pores, making them look bigger.

The appearance of large pores may also be caused by overactive sebaceous (oil) glands.
This causes the pores to expand to accommodate excess sebum production. When pores become clogged with cellular debris causing blackheads, they can appear even larger. The lack of proper facial cleansing and exfoliation aggravates the problem.

  Let us help.

How do the laser therapies work on pores?

During the treatment a gentle laser is used that passes light through the upper layer of skin. This laser heat stimulates collagen production deep beneath your skin, which is the key to more youthful, refreshed-looking skin.

Will there be any other noticeable differences?

These laser therapies can help restore your skin's youthful glow and appearance, by smoothing uneven textures caused by ageing, sun damage and scars. You will notice a creamier, healthier complexion as large pores are reduced in size and minor imperfections are decreased. The individual treatment results are subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatment effects can be dramatic.

Are these therapies like laser skin resurfacing?

No. Unlike laser skin resurfacing these treatments do not remove outer layers of the skin, hence minimizing downtime.
