  Stretch marks

Stretch marks, or striae, are a form of scarring caused by the tearing of the dermis. It is often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth, weight gain, pregnancy, or in some cases, severe pulling on the skin.

In these cases, the elastic supportive tissue just beneath the skin surface starts to break down, causing stretch marks. They are most likely to appear in places where large amounts of fat are stored – like the tummy, breasts, upper arms, underarms, back, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Between 75% and 90% of women develop stretch marks to some degree during pregnancy. In young people, growth spurts and sudden or excessive weight gain can also cause stretch marks - about 70% of adolescent females and 40% of young males.

  Let us help.

How do lasers improve stretch marks?

Unlike traditional treatments like creams and gels, lasers are used to stimulate new collagen growth. in the dermal layer of the skin. This can lessens the depth of stretch marks and improve the appearance of the skin.

What are the benefits of LineXel Fractional CO2?

It is the new gold standard in skin resurfacing, delivering dramatic ablative clinical results with minimal discomfort.

How does Fraxel Laser Treatment work?

Fraxel Laser Treatment produces tiny, microscopic sites of thermal impact separated by areas of unaffected, healthy tissue. The spared healthy tissue between treatment zones contains viable cells that promote rapid healing of the outer skin layers – improving the appearance of stretch marks. This procedure offers patients the positive results of ablative resurfacing with the low-impact benefits of non-ablative therapies.

What’s unique about V Beam?

Each pulse of laser is delivered with a spray of cool air, reducing any discomfort associated with the treatment or the possibility of blister/scab formation.
