Your dentist will first determine if the defect you are concerned about is minor enough and suitable for tooth contouring. An X-Ray will be taken to ensure your teeth are healthy enough to undergo the procedure.
What does the procedure involve?
Using various tools, small areas of the tooth surface enamel are carefully polished off to reform it into a more desirable shape. The edges of the newly-shaped tooth are smoothed and polished.
Will it hurt?
As only the surface enamel is removed, no pain should be involved. There may be minor sensitivity to hot and cold which should disappear in a day or two.
